The debut album she released in 1997, True Lies, was an excellent example. The album was not greeted with critical appreciation as well as a nomination from the Academy of Country Music in 1998 for best new female vocalist, True Lies made little impact. Evans released her next album was in the year 1999. No Place That Far was the result of bowing before producers, who persuaded her to upgrade her collection. It was the moment she finally earned the recognition that she has had her heart set on since her childhood.
